Clear aligners can serve as an alternative to traditional braces. Unlike fixed metal or aesthetic braces they are nearly visible and removable: you can take them off while you eat and brush your teeth.
Activation in every 4-5 weeks
We are proud to introduce Invisalign at our London dental practice, as the most recognizable brand of clear aligners in the world. This means easy access to a tried and true brand that really works! This highly aesthetic, removable orthodontic approach uses gentle, but extremely efficient forces to align your teeth, making it a comfortable and hygienic solution, and what’s more: they are nearly invisible!
Invisalign is a brand of clear aligner. Clear aligners look like night guards used by athletes, but are made of super tough medical grade plastics. They are thin and personalized exactly for you and are thus nearly invisible when worn.
You will receive new sets of aligners at each activation session, which will be 1-2 weeks. These transparent aligners will gently guide the teeth into a better position in which they align more with each other, until the final result is achieved.
Invisalign has several benefits such as:
Invisalign is not right for everyone, and there are certain, quite complex and severe orthodontic mal-occlusions that may require other brace options. You should always consult with a dentist! After consulting with the dentist, your mal-occlusions can be treated with Invisalign.
We prepare the complementary photos and first assessment. Within up to 2 days we inform you if the treatment is possible. Then, you come over for a Clinic Check where impression taking, potentially more photos, OPG, some small PAs; maybe OHS take place. After 2 weeks we start the treatment.
The dentist will make a study model and send it to Invisalign headquarters, who will then produce a series of aligners for you. These will be sent to your dentist who will provide you with the first series of aligners and a case to keep them in. At each activation session, new sets of Invisalign clear aligners will be given to you, and each will be a little bit closer to the healthy arrangement of your teeth.
The first few days the aligner may be uncomfortable, but make sure to wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day, or else the treatment will be ineffective and last much longer.
Once the last aligner has been worn for long enough, you will be done, and a retainer will be needed that will make sure that your teeth will stay in the new position. Please note that you need to pay for it. There is the fixed retainer and also the portable one made by Invisalign – Vivera aligner. It is highly advised to get both, but it is up to your decision.
This retainer must be worn, otherwise the treatment will have been in vain, as the teeth have a tendency to relapse to their natural position. Vivera retainer helps with relapse, even if you are unable to wear it for a couple of days, due to special plastic it is made out of – it works as a delicate aligner!
